This is debiut LP of three Gdansk artists: duo Caterina Podpora /podpora/ & Max Kohyt /kohit/(whose repertoire stretches from freeform noise to improvised jazz was -they published that year debiut LP “Night Are Numbered” on Bocian ) and Michal Jacaszek / mikal yatzashek (known for his ambient superb works for Touch). Two tracks by this trio appear both as essence and antithesis of artists’ earlier work. This work confronting listener with hardly categorisable and puzzling form. You can still manage to hear echoes of improv music, noise and contemporary classic forms music masters (from British AMM to Polish sonorists Zygmunt Krauze or Boguslaw Schaeffer ) but thanks to Jacaszek drifting towards a combinations of these three but with the additional element of ambient. But this album functions as an autonomous entity, or a sound event provoking questions rather than attempting to answer them. This proposal, very distinct and floating beyond today’s tendencies, will undoubtedly worry pessimists shedding their tears over end-of-all-aesthetics and music losing its magical aura. It is also quite likely to awaken a need for further exploration in all listeners open enough – and daring enough.

JACASZEK/PODPORA/KOHYT to wspólny projekt gdańskich artystów – Michała JACASZKA i duetu PODPORA/KOHYT [ – stworzony z potrzeby wspólnego grania, połączenia specyficznych brzmień całej trójki. Punktem wyjściowym był pomysł wykorzystania archiwalnych nagrań z wnętrz architektury gdańskich kościołów dokonanych przez Michała Jacaszka. Fragmenty unikalnych nagrań wtopione w warstwy subtelnej elektroniki Jacaszka spotykają tu struktury wypracowane przez Katarzynę Podporę i Maxa Kohyta utkane z nieoczywistych dźwięków instrumentów, przedmiotów, kontaktowo nagłaśnianych małych obiektów, manipulacji taśmą i szczypty elektroniki. Trwałym efektem projektu będzie płyta JACASZEK/PODPORA/KOHYT wydana przez Bocian Records, której premiera zaplanowana jest na koniec 2020 r.
