Janosik, a young highlander, has had enough of the lords and the soldiers who oppress his village. When things get truly heated, he leaves his beloved Maryna and flees to Hungary to fight alongside the Kurucs. He returns battle-hardened, only to realize that the land is ruled by backroom deals: court intrigues, political games, and promises that mean nothing. Disillusioned by the lack of support and how easily his cause vanishes in diplomatic talk, Janosik chooses a simpler path: the forest and those who think like him

Młody góral Janosik ma dość panów i wojska, które gnębi jego wioskę. Kiedy robi się naprawdę gorąco, zostawia swoją ukochaną Marynę i ucieka na Węgry, by walczyć u boku kuruców.
